Multifunctional hydrophor expansion vessel with interchangeable membrane for heating and water supply installations. The expansion vessel is ideal for heating, cooling, drinking water and solar applications. Mounts horizontally on its own stand with side connection. Capacity 50 litres.

The interchangeable diaphragm expansion vessel is an expansion vessel with an air cushion and ensures that water is kept under permanent pressure in a network of pipes. It is used in hydrants, protection against pressure shocks in the network.

Mode of use:
The pressure vessel is used in water supply installations for operation as a pressure vessel, its role is to store a quantity of water and to reduce the number of pump stops/starts as well as to take over the hydraulic shock.

In the pressure vessel and in the user network the water is kept under air cushion pressure. This pressure varies between the values defined by the pressure switch and is maintained between these values by an electric pump, which starts and stops on command of the pressure switch. The air cushion is created by pumping air into the vessel through a valve at one end of the vessel.

The initial air pressure in the vessel (measured at the air valve) should be approximately 1.5 bar. The purpose of the air cushion is to allow a quantity of water to accumulate in the tank, which can be consumed without the pump starting. This quantity accumulates in the reservoir each time, after all the consumers have been switched off, until the pump stops.
